Roxen Web Server and Pike

Martin Baehr described and demonstrated the Roxen web server, and described Pike, its interpreted implementation language. He also mentioned the Caudium project which is a fork of the project dedicated to maintaining backwards compatibility with earlier versions of Roxen.

Auction

Among the items auctioned off this month was Hikari, the machine which has been the TLUG server over the past few years. Thanks to Jonathan Byrne for running the auction.

XEmacs Release Management

The Cathedral Brothel and the Bazaar Bathhouse

Stephen J. Turnbull of the University of Tsukuba and XEmacs.ORG discussed the process that resulted in the release of XEmacs 21.4. He went on to offer a few early thoughts on how it might be possible to create a large-project open source development environment that is both fun and productive, without a benevolent despot.
