  1. Free talk with Art Tyde

This is an extra meeting, outside the regular TLUG calendar.

Art Tyde was the co-founder and first CEO of Linuxcare, founder/president of the Silicon Valley and Bay Area Linux Users Group (1994), a director of controversial Open Source software company SpecOps Labs, a founder of embedded Linux wireless company Sputnik Inc. (just about to IPO), and the Chief Certification Officer for the Free Standards Group.

His company Levanta (formerly known as Linuxcare) is currently looking to find Japanese resellers for their product -- and he is, of course, looking to hook up with the Linux community in Japan.

Thus, we are scheduling this extra meeting, earlier and shorter than usual, as an opportunity to talk with Art. All Linux users and supporters of open source code and free software are invited to attend this Tokyo Linux Users Group (TLUG) meeting. Membership is open to anyone. There are no membership dues or entrance fees.

  2. After the meeting, we will look for a place for lunch and continue chatting (and have a few beers).

  3. Any instructions or info before the meeting:
